Through a System of supportive services in one location the program conveniently assists people experiencing isolation due to physical and psychosocial demands. Attendance maintains and/or increases independence for older adults. Participants can continue to live at home and remain an active part of family and community.
The Bemidji program has been in business for over 40 years. It has evolved from 4 hours day, up to 12 hours day with numerous activities to maintain a healthy and rewarding lifestyle. Participants choose the days and length of attendance that best support their individual goals.
A new facility was built in 2002, and in 2014 we constructed a 4,800 square foot addition. We can serve 80 participants per day and have 2 buses, 3 vans and contracted drivers for transport to and from more rural areas around Bemidji.
Adult Day Services continually evolves in order to meet the on-going needs of all our participants. Raised gardens, a water fall feature, patios and paved walking trails are a glimpse of what has been implemented to compliment an atmosphere of enjoyable activities.

Participants choose services based on what they believe will assist them to function at their highest potential. Most choose to attend between 9 AM and 3 PM to encompass socialization, nutrition, and fitness opportunities.
Everyone! Current participants contribute incredible life stories. They are individuals who have paved the way towards today’s life quality. Many choose to utilize Adult Day Services because they are less active due to changes in health, which influences their ability to manage activities of daily living and quality driving techniques. Stroke, diabetes, heart disease, dementia, chronic pain, osteoporosis, arthritis, sight and hearing challenges, loneliness, are some of the health histories addressed in care. The program regularly connects participants with friends and community. Relationships cultivated continue to transform the lives of both staff and participants.
We welcome volunteers!
You can assist and interact with participants through various activities. You too will benefit from working with an amazing group of people encompassing many years of life experiences.
Every summer, cash prizes are given away to the winners of a rubber duck race on the Mississippi River between lakes Irving and Bemidji.
You or someone you know may qualify for benefits through Veterans Administration, Medical Assistance, United Way Scholarship Fund, Adult Day Services Subsidy, and/or Long Term Care Insurance.
You may be thinking about a relative, neighbor or friend that could use a little support. We are happy to visit with you.
